This new law creates an accountability education system that features four reform principles: 1) increased accountability, 2) increased flexibility and local control, 3) increased parental choice and involvement, and 4) demonstration of effective teaching methods. Key components of this law require a focus on current materials and methods that are evidence-based.
States gain more control and flexibility with added accountability through established standards for all students and demonstrated and measured through annual growth.
